Celebrate the colors of fall and the rich traditions of German heritage on this unforgettable journey through the Southeast, featuring alpine villages, scenic excursions, and lively Oktoberfest celebrations.
Our adventure begins as we travel east to Cullman, Alabamaa town deeply rooted in German heritage. Founded in the 1800s by German immigrant Colonel John G. Cullmann, Cullman still reflects its European influence in architecture, culture, and community traditions. While here, youll visit the extraordinary Ave Maria Grotto, often called "Jerusalem in Miniature," where over 100 handcrafted replicas of famous religious landmarks from around the world are displayed in a peaceful garden setting.
Continuing into the scenic North Georgia mountains, youll arrive in the Bavarian-style village of Helen, where Oktoberfest is celebrated in grand style. Enjoy reserved seating at the lively Helen Festhalle, where a traditional German dinner, festive music, and dancing create an authentic Oktoberfest experience. After an evening of celebration, relax overnight in this charming alpine town.
The next day, journey to Blue Ridge for a picturesque ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway Fall Train excursion. Travel alongside the Toccoa River surrounded by vibrant autumn foliage, then enjoy a 2-hour layover at the Tennessee/Gerogia state line for lunch, boutique shopping, and exploring the quaint mountain towns of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN before returning to Helen with time to explore Helens shops and mountain charm. That evening, immerse yourself once more in Oktoberfest festivities for a second night of music, food, and fun.
We will continue our journey with a stop in Chattanooga, TN. Experience a ride on the historic Lookout Mountain Incline Railway, one of the steepest passenger railways in the world. At the summit, take in spectacular views and enjoy free time for lunch and shopping.
Our final evening in the vibrant city of Nashville features dinner and live entertainment at the popular Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre. Celebrate the sounds of country music while enjoying a delicious mealan unforgettable finale to your adventure.
