Surrender to the wild allure of North Dakota on an adventure where rugged beauty, frontier legends, and unforgettable experiences collide. From sweeping Badlands vistas to immersive Old West thrills, this tour is designed to awaken your sense of wonder—and your appetite for adventure. Cruise the scenic loop of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, feel the dust rise beneath an authentic stagecoach ride through the Badlands, indulge in the legendary Pitchfork Steak Fondue, and lose yourself in the glow of the Medora Musical beneath a wide-open sky. Add in a walk through cinematic history at Dances with Wolves, a visit to the nation’s newest presidential library, and even an underground train ride through a working salt mine, and you have a journey that’s bold, immersive, and unapologetically unforgettable. As our inaugural tour to North Dakota, even the moments between destinations are packed with excitement—including a lively welcome dinner at the Pony Express Museum, where it all begins.

North Dakota’s vastness is intoxicating. The land unfolds in layers—fertile river valleys melting into endless prairies, rolling hills rising toward vividly colored Badlands buttes that glow in the sun. With more wildlife refuges than nearly any other state, this is nature at its most untamed. Bison, wild horses, moose, elk, and bighorn sheep roam freely, creating thrilling moments of connection with the wild. Yet it’s the rich tapestry of history, culture, and story woven through this landscape that truly sets North Dakota apart.

Our adventure ignites in St. Joseph, Missouri, one of the most pivotal cities of the American frontier. At the Pony Express Museum, daring tales of fearless riders come alive through immersive exhibits and authentic artifacts. As evening falls, we gather for a spirited welcome dinner at the museum, setting a bold and celebratory tone for the journey ahead.

We then drift north through the endless horizons of the Great Plains en route to Fargo, North Dakota, where we settle in for a two-night stay. Fargo may be famous on screen, but in person it surprises and delights. Highlights include the Fargo Air Museum, where gleaming aircraft and powerful stories showcase the daring evolution of aviation, and the awe-inspiring Hjemkomst Viking Ship. Standing beneath the towering wooden hull of this full-scale replica of a 9th-century burial ship, you’ll feel the pull of ancient seas and legendary voyages.

From Fargo, the road leads west through Bismarck and onward to Medora—a charming western town perched at the edge of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Here, the spirit of the Old West seduces the senses. Before nightfall, savor the iconic Pitchfork Steak Fondue Dinner, where perfectly cooked steaks are dipped Western-style into bubbling fondue pots and served on a bluff overlooking Medora’s breathtaking landscape. As dusk settles, the Medora Musical takes center stage—a dazzling outdoor performance filled with music, humor, and heart, set against the dramatic silhouettes of the Badlands.

A full day is devoted to the raw beauty and layered history of the North Dakota Badlands. Step into frontier elegance at the historic Château de Mores, then feel the thrill of an Old West stagecoach ride along a quiet dirt road, where the landscape whispers stories of another era. We also visit the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, the nation’s newest presidential library, offering inspiring, innovative exhibits that celebrate the life and legacy of America’s great Conservation President. The day crescendos with the Theodore Roosevelt National Park Scenic Loop, where rugged buttes, winding rivers, and roaming wildlife stretch endlessly before you. Named a top destination to visit in 2026 by National Geographic, this park delivers pure, untamed beauty as far as the eye can see.

The adventure deepens as we cross into South Dakota and the enchanting Black Hills. Iconic moments await at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, where monumental carvings rise dramatically from granite, followed by a step into cinematic history at the Dances with Wolves movie set at Fort Hays. The evening brings warmth and laughter at a Chuckwagon Dinner and Show, pairing hearty Western fare with lively entertainment under open skies.

As we journey home, prepare for one final, unforgettable descent—650 feet beneath the surface at the Strataca Underground Salt Museum. Board a mine train cart and glide through glittering tunnels carved from ancient salt, uncovering stories of industry, resilience, and hidden beauty. Exploring a working salt mine is a thrilling, unexpected finale to an extraordinary journey.

Blending adventure, indulgence, sweeping scenery, and iconic Americana, this tour captures the irresistible spirit of the Dakotas. Bold. Beautiful. Unforgettable. Welcome to the Dramatic Dakotas—where the landscape doesn’t just impress, it seduces.
