Be swept away to not only beautiful Mackinac Island-but to shores of Lake Michigan in Door County! Mackinac Island- where the automobile never replaced the horse and carriage-you’ll be transported back in time as you hear the claps of the horses' footsteps trotting by. Experience the history, legends, and beauty of Mackinac Island with a horse-drawn carriage tour of the island, ending at the beautiful and famous Grand Hotel, where a delicious included buffet lunch awaits. Our centrally located hotel creates the perfect opportunity for you to walk the quaint streets and enjoy the fudge stores, unique shopping, and delightful dining options that Mackinac Island is known for!

Our Great Lake adventure begins on Lake Michigan for two nights as we spend time in Door County. Known for its picturesque coastal towns, specialty shops, fish boils, cherry and apple orchards and scenic beauty, Door County, Wisconsin is often referred to as the "Cape Cod of the Midwest." With the waters of Green Bay on one side and Lake Michigan on the other, the Door Peninsula offers spectacular waterfront views, with more than 300 miles of shoreline featuring towering limestone bluffs, rugged rock formations and pristine beaches. While in Door County we take a 5-Mile ferry ride across the once- treacherous waters of Death’s Door, where Green Bay and Lake Michigan meet- to the quaint and stunning Washington Island. Our guided tour of Washington Island will include turquoise waters, the Washington Island Art and Nature Center located in a historic 100- year old schoolhouse, the Farm Museum where you’ll interact with farm animals, and one of the Midwest’s largest lavender farms at Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm and Shop. You can stroll through approximately 20,000 thriving lavender plants in the fields, where 14 different varieties of lavender are grown. Shop the hundreds of Fragrant Isle lavender products in the store, and visit the big red working barn for demos in lavender processing and distillation. Upon returning to the mainland, we’ll visit the premier cherry grower and retailer of cherries and cherry products in Wisconsin, Seaquist Orchards Farm Market. A multi generation family business dating back to the early 1900’s has grown into a sweet tradition for anyone visiting Door County. We end our time in Door County with a good ole fashioned Fish Boil. Traditional fish boils are an integral part of Door County culture and have been one of the area’s most alluring attractions for more than 70 years. Early Scandinavian settlers brought the tradition from the homelands, and residents still carry on this custom today. This simple and satisfying meal is enhanced by each restaurant's own recipes, styles, stories, but most meals include fresh-caught Lake Michigan whitefish with onions, potatoes, and corn with a slice of Door County cherry pie for dessert.

Then, we are off to Mackinac Island, where our three night Island stay is filled with relaxation, exploration, fine dining and fudge buying! For centuries, visitors have enjoyed this national treasure that’s home to historic Fort Mackinac, world-famous Mackinac Island fudge and car-free streets full of horse-drawn carriages. This ideal vacation spot is a paradise of exploration with incredible natural landmarks, awe-inspiring sunrises and unforgettable sunsets. There’s unique shopping, diverse dining and extraordinary nightlife, too. No wonder Travel + Leisure ranked Mackinac Island the Best Island in the Continental U.S. Our time on the island includes a horse-drawn carriage tour, a GRAND luncheon at the iconic Grand Resort Hotel, and time at Fort Mackinac. In your spare time sample fudge, shop til’ you drop, take a leisurely bicycle ride along the lake shore, or even a sunset cruise after dinner! Mackinac Island offers something to do for everyone!

The fun doesn’t end there, though. Following our stay on Mackinac Island, we will spend the night in Charlevoix, Michigan. Charlevoix beautiful splendor is unmatched anywhere. Surrounded by four bodies of water, Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix, Round Lake and the Pine River- no matter what direction you look, is a sight for your eyes. We’ll begin our time at a visitor favorite-with a tour of Earl Young’s Mushroom Houses. Famous to this area, these houses are iconic because they feature one-of-a-kind designs, whimsical rooflines, and amazing doors, windows, fireplaces, and chimneys. Then, we are off to Castle Farms, where you can Step back in time and explore the historic wonder of a castle designed in the renaissance style. With magical gardens, Michigan’s largest model train collection, and a wide variety of historic memorabilia- you’ll feel like Kings and Queens as you explore the grounds and enjoy an included lunch at the Castle. Our time in Charlevoix wouldn’t be complete without spending the evening in quaint downtown. Not only is their downtown walkable, but it’s also situated on Round Lake, featuring beautiful parks, ample stores and restaurants. During the summer months, the drawbridge goes up on an hour and a half hour- and watching boats go through the bridge is a visitor favorite! Downtown stores offer unique items such a one of a kind artwork, boutiques, specialty food products and so much more. After visiting the stores, explore all of Charlevoix’s dining options. We highly recommend you try the locally caught whitefish!

We’ll begin our journey back to Arkansas-but with fun-filled spots along the way…time in downtown Holland -Michigan’s own Dutch community- named one of "America’s Prettiest Towns" by Forbes Magazine, downtown Holland’s cobblestone sidewalks line the streets with over 100 unique and locally owned shops, galleries, eateries, and brew pubs. Then we’ll take a thrilling Dune Ride in Saugatuck, Michigan before arriving our last overnight stay on the tour.
