Gazing upon the northern lights is a dream for many. And this year, our chances of witnessing this breathtaking natural spectacle are better than ever! NASA scientists are predicting 2025 to be a prime year for catching a glimpse of the lights, thanks to the sun hitting its peak in the 11-year cycle -the solar maximum! This means they predict more intense and frequent Northern Lights displays in 2025. So, why not join us on an exciting adventure to where the night sky is filled with constellations and the Northern Lights may just put on a show like no other. Our time in International Falls on the American side of the Canadian border gives us the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights in the US. During our tour, we'll have six nights of potential viewing, among many stunning backdrops including time Voyageurs National Park-- a certified international Dark Sky Park. Embark on a nighttime cruise beneath the starlit skies of Voyageurs National Park. By day, venture through the breathtaking waters of Voyageurs and delve into the park's rich history and stunning landscapes. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife such as loons, bald eagles, white-tailed deer, and black bears - sightings are frequent and truly unforgettable.

Although no glimpse is guaranteed this park is renowned for its pristine and dark night skies, making it the perfect spot to search for the colorful lights dancing across the heavens. Voyageurs is a mosaic of land and water; an environment of great beauty. The park's complex system of waterways includes an important segment of the transcontinental highway traversed by French-Canadian voyageurs during the late 1700s and early 1800s. Voyageurs is a place where the southern tip of the boreal forest meets and mixes with the northern edge of the hardwood forest. The area is comprised of hardwood forests, marshes, rocky outcrops, and lakeshore environments for timber wolves, bald eagles, moose, and black bears. Both of our scenic boat tours will be naturalist-led tours. The captain will navigate to a quiet spot to optimize dark sky viewing while a ranger helps us identify objects with the naked eye and what it means to be a dark sky certified park. And hoping for Northern Lights to dance for us across the heavens. Speaking of heavens....we'll also stay at one of the most "heavenly" hotels across America. The Celeste hotel is truly a "Celestial" experience. This convent-turned-hotel pays homage to the historical site and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet who lived and worked on the grounds. The hotel is even named after the convent’s first Mother Superior Ellen Howard, or Mother Celestine. Here we know you will find your corner in heaven and have an experience unlike "nun" other! But that's not all. Our days will be filled with incredible adventures and jaw-dropping scenery. Immerse yourself in the grandeur and natural beauty of Minnesota's tallest waterfall! Journey along the North Shore Scenic Drive, a route like no other. This designated "All-American Road" boasts both pink and black beaches, historic lighthouses, majestic waterfalls, and ancient lava formations that date back billions of years. As we drive parallel to the inland coast of Lake Superior, you'll witness towering forests and ancient rock formations that rise above the shore. Discover quaint coastal communities along the way, offering breathtaking views and opportunities to explore tumbling waterfalls, historic sites, and local culture. The North Shore Scenic Drive is a one-of-a-kind experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world. And finally we take a scenic train ride along the shore....and see magnificent views of Lake Superior, the downtown skyline, and the majestic Northwoods from your window seat. Classic engines pull vintage cars on a variety of trips. Our tour package includes roundtrip transportation, 9 nights lodging, all admissions, a scenic train ride, dinner cruise, a stop at the iconic Mall of America, boat cruise through Voyagers National Park, stargazing in international Dark Sky Park, a visit to Minnesota's tallest waterfall, Sugarloaf Cove, Lake Superior Maritime Museum, 12 meals (7 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 3 dinners) and many other exciting inclusions.
