Immerse yourself in the enchanting sites that inspired F Scott Fitzgerald and feel as though youre living in the pages of The Great Gatsby. Join us for a unique tour that whisks you away to the historic Seelbach hotel in Louisville, where youll indulge in 3 luxurious nights amidst the very backdrop of the book's most romantic and nostalgic scenes. The Seelbach hotel, with its opulent Gilded Age architecture, stands as one in Louisvilles most cherished landmarks, preserving pockets of vintage roaring 20s glamour. Originally built in 1905, this iconic establishment was a favorite haunt of notorious gangsters like Al Capone and Lucky Luciano, who would gather to play cards in its lavish ballroom. During our stay, will explore the hotel's storied halls, visiting the very spots where Fitzgerald danced, and where the gangsters once played. Prepare to be captivated by additional highlights, including a tour of a magnificent old mansion, and even a stunning castle, both reminiscent of the grandeur of southern aristocracy. Daisy Buchanan, an essential character in the novel hailed from a wealthy, southern family, and this played a pivotal role in shaping her character. Experience the opulence of high society as we tour both The Conrad Caldwell mansion and The Kentucky Castle, each echoing the lavish lifestyle depicted in Fitzgeralds masterpiece.
Like Gatsbys fascination with wealth and status, Kentucky's association with horse racing also reflects the aristocratic traditions of the South. Thats why well visit some of the notable places in horse racing--a symbol of wealth, society, and exclusivity, mirroring the opulent parties in The Great Gatsby. Many of these parties took place on the elegant lawn and garden of Jay Gatsby, which serves as a symbol for the forgotten history of Art Deco gardens. That's why our tour includes a stop at the Yew Dell Botanical Gardens -- an internationally-recognized garden set on the historic former estate of Theodore Klein. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a visit to the Yew Dell Botanical Garden in April will be a sight to behold. We also include lunch in the gardens!
But our Gatsby tour isnt just filled with glitz and glamourit must include a murder! That's right, the most famous murder in American literature is that Jay Gatsby, who is murdered at his own mansion. So get ready for a fun night of murder, mystery and mayhem. Witness a hilarious mystery while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect before you know it . This true crime murder mystery experience is different from a traditional murder mystery dinner show, and includes a full plated dinner, and plenty of surprises!
Here's your chance to experience the indulgent lifestyle (and end-to-a-life) that Fitzgerald so masterfully depicted.
