This enchanting destination is a melting pot of rich heritage, splendid arts, intoxicating wines, and the Texas "Outback" - where you can sip on exotic wines while spotting exotic animals. It's been a favorite among Texans for years, thanks to its legendary shopping and abundant crops. But now, Fredericksburg has transformed into a wine lover's paradise, earning the title of the new "Napa." This charming town offers a small-town vibe with big-city amenities, from top-notch restaurants to unique shops and attractions. Founded by German immigrants in the 1840s, Fredericksburg still proudly showcases its German heritage through its architecture, cuisine, and friendly locals. Our journey will kick off overnighting en route in Fort Worth, a vibrant city bursting with history and delicious dining options. Then, we'll make our way to Fredericksburg for three fun-filled days and nights. Picture rolling hills, vineyards as far as the eye can see, and Packsaddle Mountain towering over the Llano River. It's a scene straight out of a postcard. Fredericksburg awaits, ready to charm you with its beauty and hospitality.

We'll depart from Little Rock and spend the first night in Fort Worth, brimming with activity, a bustling, historic downtown, and many restaurants.

 

Then we're off to Fredericksburg for 3 nights--a charming small town filled with world-class wine, with the backdrop of Texas Hill Country, where hills rise to 400–500 ft above the surrounding plains and valleys, and Packsaddle Mountain rising to 800 ft above the Llano River. Before we arrive at our hotel we’ll stop for a visit to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center for an open-air wildlife safari! Embark on a thrilling 7.2-mile scenic drive where you can mingle with over 1,100 exotic and endangered animals roaming freely in herds. Witness a menagerie of 50-plus species, from majestic cheetahs to graceful giraffes, all in their natural habitat. After your wild adventure, indulge in delectable cuisine at The Overlook Cafe while soaking in a breathtaking view of the park. Don't forget to swing by the Nature Store for some souvenirs to impress your loved ones back home.

But wait, the fun doesn't stop there! Next stop, Fredericksburg, where you'll be spoiled with charming shops, galleries, and wine tasting rooms just a stone's throw away from your hotel. Spend your first night exploring this delightful town at your leisure. The following day, we'll whisk you off to Wildseed Farms, a sprawling 200-acre wildflower farm and vineyard. Take a leisurely stroll along the half-mile walking trail, sample award-winning wines made from estate grapes, or kick back with a cold brew at the Brewbonnet. Shop for unique gifts, seeds, and plants to bring a piece of the farm home with you. Then we venture further into the Texas Hill Country as we visit Safari Vineyards, a historic family-owned winery with roots dating back to the 1800s. Sip on their exquisite African wines in a tasting room that will transport you to the savannahs of Africa. Dinner tonight will be included at the Auslander Restaurant and Biergarten --serving up great food and good times since 1979. Enjoy the biergarten and traditional German atmosphere in the dining room and fantastic homemade desserts, which make The Auslander a must-visit when in Fredericksburg. The next day we venture deep into the Texas Outback to explore more vineyards on a working ranch. Get a sneak peek behind the curtain and witness the intricate operations and interactions that make a ranch come alive! After indulging in some delicious wine tasting, hop aboard a "Zebra Tram" for a VIP tour led by a trained Animal Care Professional. Get up close and personal with exotic animals like Camels, Zebras, Alpacas, Bison, and Longhorn. It's a wild experience you won't soon forget!
