After two nights in Las Vegas we will arrive the next day just outside Yosemite National Park, where we will stay the next three nights. Our boutique hotel is a choice location for off-the-beaten path exploration. It even features a historic theater and 4 distinct dining experiences reflective of California’s central valley. Our time in the Yosemite area not only includes sightseeing but an amazing dining experience at a local winery, and even a train trip through the heart of California’s scenic Gold Country. Your train ride will take you past the water tower from Petticoat Junction and transport you from the backyards of Jamestown to the rugged hillsides of California’s Mother Lode country. After your ride, explore historic grounds, and spend the day in the beauty of California’s Gold Country. We’ll also visit another place with throwback charm and a treasure trove of historic artifacts—that presents the Gold Rush in living, breathing color. Costumed docents do more than lead tours of this carefully preserved Mother Lode town—they live and work in a variety of period-appropriate shops and trades. Catch a ride on an authentic stagecoach, order a cold, locally made sarsaparilla soda in a Western-style saloon, or feel the heat in a working blacksmith's forge. There’s also a Wells Fargo express office and other relics of California's early mining days. The town even sounds authentic—no cars allowed here, though you will hear the clip-clop of a horse and carriage. Then we’re off to Yosemite National Park. Not just a great valley, but a shrine to human foresight, the strength of granite, the power of glaciers, the persistence of life, and the tranquility of the High Sierra. First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more! With so much to see, it can be hard to know where to go or even what to do. Our guided Yosemite tour will allow you to see far more of the park than you could by yourself. Learn more about this amazing place than you would on your own, all without having to do the driving yourself! The next day we’re off to another National Park—Sequoia National park. Huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world’s largest trees exemplify the diversity of landscapes, life, and beauty here. We’ll explore it with a local guide and learn about the ancient giant sequoias, which may seem invincible, but they, too are vulnerable. Whether you see them from near or far ---giant sequoias inspire awe and wonder.
